I am a Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst and faculty member at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, and a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association. My Oakland office is in the Market Hall building in the heart of Rockridge, steps from the Rockridge BART.
I have helped a variety of clients with a wide range of psychological difficulties. I work with adults, college-age and up. My patients range from those suffering from debilitating anxiety, depression, and trauma to those who come in simply for relationship issues or greater self understanding.
I can help you with:
- Relationship problems (gay or straight)
- Anxiety & Depression
- Low self-esteem
- Intimacy issues
- Trauma, PTSD
- Grief/Loss
- Divorce/Separation
- Recovery from difficult childhood events
I approach therapy collaboratively and view the work as a joint effort to support, encourage, guide, and challenge clients to make the changes they want. My goal is to create a safe, containing space, where any issue can be discussed and explored.
I put together this website to give prospective clients a better idea of my approach, training, and experience. I find that the best way to discover if my approach works for you is to take advantage of the free initial consultation I offer. During this initial consultation we can discuss your needs, my approach, and how well the two fit together. This initial meeting is free and can be set up by e-mailing me or calling me at the number below.
